Z = Z^c + b = Z
What is that!?!? Believe it or not that is a fractal equation. It is a form of the mandelbolt equation.


We are looking at living mathematics. We are looking at mathematical art. It is simple on how it works. In math we solve a problem from right to left. So, lets take a look at the equation above. If Z = 2, c =2 and b = 3 we solve for the equation which is 5. Then we place that back into Z and solve again. Which it now turns into 28 and it keeps growing bigger. Now in a fractal we put something like .1 into the problem. (.1 * .1) + -1 = -.99. Then we place that back into the equation for z and repeat. Each time we do this though we place a point along the graph. In this case a complex plain. After a while the points start adding up and create something unique.  



So How Do I do fractal art?
That's a simple one. There is a few programs that lets you work with fractals out there. The main ones are:

Ultra fractal (www.ultrafractal.com), It has a free trail,

There are many other programs that you can use to create amazing fractal art work, but these are the mostly used. I personally us ultra fractal.
